My Valentine.......

I took a trip to see Heather & Nathan....Florida and Phoenix.
Paul had to stay at the Chelsea @ Montville.
This morning I went to pick him up....and as I packing his things to come home...
I see a gift....a gift bag with a little box inside.
He motioned that is was for me.

I opened it and found these earrings.
I couldn't figure out how, where, who had gotten these for Paul to give to me,
or even how he
made them realize that he wanted to get me earrings.
I turned the bag over and found a name and phone number.
I called.
A few minutes later a lovely woman called me back.
She is the daughter of one of Paul's dinner companions.
Somehow one of his other companions,
Edna, told her that Paul had

admired her earrings and that Paul wanted to get a pair for me.
This sweet woman bought them and had them wrapped and surprised Paul.
Now...I'm crying.
How in the hell did all this happen?
Paul still can't read, write or speak....
yet somehow he communicated....
and somehow

two very dear people helped to make his wish come true.
Now that is one special pair of earrings....from my dear, sweet Valentine.

Never underestimate the power of love. He is blessed to have you and you are blessed to have him.

Hi, Linda... I think of you two, often, and when Peter King mentioned in a "tweet" -- oh, what Paul would think of them! -- that he was having lunch with you next week, I had a look in and found this wonderful story. It is a great reminder of the different types of communication. There are big, broad stages: books, SI articles, and columns for hundreds of thousands of readers; there are small, quiet gestures that say so much. Dr. Z. still has that power to move us. Best to you both!
